Hello Friends

We’ll be publishing the latest Fire TV release notes right here. Come back often to check out what’s new and what has been fixed. Make sure you have our latest app to see all these changes.

v1.14
Release date: November 15th

  • Improvement:We went bold! Typography throughout the app had an increase in weight to improve readability. It turns even bolder to indicate a selection. We also adjusted some padding and eliminated episode descriptions from search results so you don’t have to deal with all that text on your screen.
  • Improvement:This change is in direct response to your feedback. We learned that it wasn’t easy to catch up with captions on live events like sports. To fix that, now they will be left aligned so that they appear to come in across the screen from left to right instead of starting at the center and spreading outwards word by word.
  • Improvement:We also heard that our default captions were hard to read, so we switched to a bolder font and made our default scheme white on black. However, you can still change them to whatever style works better for you.

v1.10
Release date: September 21st

  • Improvement:We keep making small changes that have a big impact on how you interact with Hulu. From refreshing the look and feel of your Home menu to improving action buttons, we believe they add up to a better experience.
  • Improvement:Our revamped badging system will help you identify content availability. For example, “New” badges on both live and on-demand shows will point you to the next best episode to watch.
  • Improvement:We want to meet your viewing needs and be more transparent, so that’s why we are surfacing better messaging around My Stuff and Cloud DVR’s behavior. For example, if you are a Live TV subscriber, now whenever you add or remove a show from My Stuff you’ll know that we will record (or stop recording) new episodes of that specific show.
