Regular boilers could be seen as outdated as they have a few issues, such as the fact that they need to be linked up to a separate cylinder and cold water storage tank which takes up extra space. However, they also have a few benefits which still often makes them the best choice:
– They’re ideal for homes where a lot of hot water is used at once in different rooms.
– They work well in homes with multiple bathrooms
– They’re well-suited to areas with low water pressure.
– They’re compatible with solar water heating systems.
Aside from this, the main advantage is that they’re usually cheaper and easier to install in homes that already have a traditional water heating system in place. I wanted to change to a new combi-boiler until my heating engineer in Southampton explained that it’s more expensive to switch boiler system.
