Corporate finance is a unit or part of a company that is in charge of matters such as capital, funding, as well as other measures and means to boost the company’ standing in terms of value. Inside the corporate finance department of a given company, the members are given the task to analyze all financial decisions including investments, assets, etc. Crucial decisions are made such as whether the company should invest or not in assets that will leave a long-lasting impact on the company’s capital assets.
Aside from long-term goals and operations, corporate finance takes care of present and short-term operation and management so that the company can go on and continue regular operations. Members of the corporate finance department are also in charge of deciding what to do with the company’s surplus or excess revenue – with the ultimate goal of gaining long-term stability and achieving a greater value for the business.
