While solar panels generally require little maintenance, they still require some TLC to help keep them in tip top shape. Yes, the maintenance is low, but like anything, if you want it to last, then you should take the extra effort to do your own maintenance for preservation purposes since solar panels are an important investment to make.
If the area where you solar panels are installed are full of dirt or other elements such bird droppings, then your panels may require more inspection. If this area (and your panels) are kept clean and free of debris, then your panels will require little inspection, if any at all. If it rains a lot where you live, then solar panel maintenance should be relativity simple for you. If it does not, be sure to regularly check your panels for debris and clean them when necessary.
